Iraq Suicide Attack Pillow Project. Flatfile Galleries Installation. June 20 - August 22, 2008

For this installation I put up a shelf around the perimeter of the gallery, a total of about 100 feet in length. On the shelf I wrote a two week period of time, for the width of each pillow. I attached the pillows for the attacks that occurred during those two weeks horizontally, above and below the shelf. The wall would hold 17 pillows, from fllor to ceiling, and if there were more than that many attacks in that two week period, then the pillows spilled out onto the floor.
